1. Halong Bay
Located on the West Coast of Gulf of Tonkin, Halong Bay belongs to the sea of Halong City, Cam Pha city, and a part of Van Don Island District, all in Quang Ninh Province. The coast is 120 km in length, the area of 1553 km2 that consists of 1969 islands ( a majority of them are limestone islands), the core of the bay are about 335 km2 in area with 775 small and big islands.
Not only the scenery is extremely beautiful with the presence of the limestone islands, Halong Bay also bring a peaceful feeling to the tourists while they are here. Being considered one of 29 “Most beautiful bay of the world” in March 2012, The New Open World organization has declared Halong Bay as one of 7 new wonders of the world.
2. Thien Mu Pagoda
Also called Linh Mu Pagoda, this is an old pagoda on Ha Khe Hill, near Huong river, and is 5km away due to the west from the central Hue city. Thien Mu Pagoda is officially built in 1601, under the reign of Lord Tien Nguyen Hoang, the first Nguyen lord of South Ancient Vietnam.
With a natural scenery and a large scale, Thien Mu Pagoda has become the most beautiful pagoda of that time. This place has suffered a lot from historical events, for example being used as an Altar of Earth in 1788 ( under the reign of Tay Son dynasty), and then being fixed multiple times under the reign of many Nguyen emperors. At present, this pagoda is still being adjusted in a glorious way in order to attract many tourists from inside and outside Vietnam.
3. Hoan Kiem Lake ( Sword Lake)
This is a natural fresh water lake in Hanoi city. This lake is about 12 hectare in area. In the past, the lake had multiple other names like Luc Thuy Lake, Thuy Quan Lake, Ta Vong Lake, Huu Vong Lake… The name Hoan Kiem Lake ( Return the Sword) was born in the 15th century along with the legend of Le Thai To King returned a treasured sword to a Turtle God that helped him won the war.
Hoan Kiem Lake exists along with many historical legends. It is a symbol of peace, of the talents in both Literature and War of Vietnamese people. Because of that, many artists have used this lake as an inspiration for their own work
4. Hoi An City
Hoi An city resides on the North coast of Thu Bon river. It is 25km away due to the South East of Da Nang city and is 50km away due to the Northeast of Tam Ky city. From the 16th century to 17th century, this place is known as “Faifoo”, a big trading center in South East Asia for many businessmen who comes from Japan, China, Portugal, Italy…
Hoi An city in the present time preserved the starting state of many ancient architects and many non-matter culture values in traditions, beliefs, folk arts, culture festival, traditional craft villages. Besides that, the food culture in Hoi An is one of the most memorable things that tourists usually mention when talking about Hoi An. 5. Phu Quoc island
This island is also known as Gem Island, is one of the largest island in Vietnam. It is also the largest island among 22 other islands that belong to Thailand Bay. Phu Quoc island along with many other islands belongs to the Phu Quoc district islands that under the control of Kien Giang province. The total size of the district islands is about 589,23 km2 in area.
In 2008, the website Concierge.com ( majors in Australia tourism) has declared Phu Quoc Long Coast one of 13 “wildest and most beautiful” beaches of the world. Phu Quoc island also produced a kind of fish sauce that is not only famous in Vietnam but also to the whole world.
